General

Can I supply my own garment for decoration?

Generally, no.  Due to varying fabric combinations and chemical treatments that retail clothing is exposed to, we cannot guarantee  successful decoration on client-provided garments.   All the items we source are shipped without treatments to ensure compatibility with different production methods our industry uses. As well, we always order overs to compensate for any losses we suffer during production.  (Yes, we do make mistakes despite our genuine efforts to achieve perfection.)

If you must have us decorate your garments, please be sure to check with our team member for compatbiilty and policy.

What is screen printing?

Screen printing is an analog printing process that involves ink pushed through a fine-mesh screen that has been exposed with the artwork.  Each exposed screen constitutes one color, also known as a spot color.    This differs from a DTG or (Direct-to-Garment) printing process, which is a digital printing method that uses 4 process colors (CMYK) to render different colors.  Screen printing provides a much more vibrancy in color and is the preferred method for high-quantity, low-cost garment printing.

Do I use RGB or CMYK for the design files?

We can accept either color mode for file submission, however our digital print process all output using CMYK.  So, if an RGB file is provided, please note that their may be a significant shift in color.  If the output color is very important, please contact us before placing your order and we can assist with explaining on how the color will translate to output.

What is a vector file?

A vector file is a resolution-independent file format composed of mathmatical formulas.   Simply put, it is a file format that maintains sharpness regardless of scaling.  Whereas a full-color photograph is composed of a map of very small, different colored dots,  a vector file uses mathmatical equations to create elements such as lines and shapes.  Adobe Illustrator is a popular software that can create vector-based graphics.   Typical vector file formats have .EPS or .SVG extensions.
